Youth

Youth sit on boards, are employed by co-ops, participate in co-op activities, study co-ops and lead the co-op movement into the future. Below is a brief description of youth involvement in co-ops. Topics include, youth directors and representatives, co-op youth organisations, student co-ops, co-op studies and opportunities.

 This presentation by Yuill Herbert was the opening to the 2008 Building Co-op Future Video Conference. His presentation puts sustainability at the forefront of the co-operative movement and set the tone for a new generation of co-operators to ensure that sustainbility is considered a top priority of the way we do business...co-operatively.

A presentation on organizing and educating youth for worker ownership form the CWCF's AGM 2005.

This organisation's website, specifically aimed at younger people, aged 18 to 34 years, has a step-by-step explanation of the application process for loans. CYBF provides loans for start-up costs of up to $15,000.

Saskatchewan Co-operative Association is a provincial coalition of co-operatives, including credit unions, that collaborates to support and promote the co-operative model for community and economic development.

MYDAS is a program designed for youth across the Atlantic region to develop the skills needed to aid in community economic development.
