Forestry and lumber industries

Forestry co-operatives, particularly in some of the European countries, have grown out of traditions of community forestry. In other parts of the world, they have emerged because of the desire to manage forest resources more systematically and, in many instances, in environmentally-friendly ways.

The Québec Federation of Forestry Cooperatives gather and represent, in shared interest areas, the totality of forest workers cooperatives, worker-shareholder cooperatives and solidarity cooperatives present in the forest sector of Québec.
